I remember this day 10 years ago like the back of my hand. It was a wild mixture of excitement and anxiety and I DEFINITELY felt like a fish out of water. Author Mandi Beck was my rock, hyping me up and telling me it was going to be great. #teamstickydandredsolocupsforever 

I had no idea what I was doing (and still don’t most of the time). I was a stay-at-home mom with no “credentials” to make me think I had any business in this world. Yet, I did it.

Some of my titles remind me of the highs of my career—The Exception becoming my first published novel, Sacrifice hitting the USA Today list, Tumble being my first trad published book, Wherever It Leads hitting Amazon’s Top 10, hitting Amazon’s Top 3 for the first time with Crank.

And, some remind me of the lows—the sophmore slump of The Perception and how I almost quit writing, struggling to finish the Cherry Falls novellas while battling COVID, sobbing my way through Reputation on the heels of losing my mother, and the disappointment in Nothing But It All not reaching readers like I hoped it would.

Through it all, the one consistent thing is YOU. My sweet, supportive, loyal readers and friends—you have made this the ride of a freaking lifetime. You have stood by me when times were hard and cheered with me in moments of happiness. You rallied around me not just as a writer, but as a friend, a woman, and a human being. Some of you say that I’ve impacted you through my writing. Well, friends, you’ve impacted me, too. One of the things I’m most proud of throughout my career is that I’m still friends with the same people I was friends with 10 years ago. That’s such a testament to the bonds of the book world.

Thank you for taking a chance on my books and trusting me with delivering a smile at the end of a hard day. I promise to always give you my best and to never take your support for granted.
