My boys love to eat. They also love to give their opinions about the things they consume and their highest-starred reviews always come in after I make this coffee cake.
As if that’s not enough to convince you: my mother-in-law also asked for the recipe.
This is perfect for cold, winter-y mornings. I can definitely see this recipe being used by Nana Gibson.
Delicious Coffee Cake
(1) 18.25oz yellow cake mix
(1) 3.4-oz butterscotch instant pudding mix
(1) 3.4-oz vanilla instant pudding mix
1 cup water
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup brown sugar
1.5 TB cinnamon
1 cup walnuts – optional
Grease a 9×13″ pan and preheat your oven to 350*.
Stir your cake mix and pudding mixes together. In a separate bowl, combine your eggs, oil, and water. Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix well.
In a separate bowl, combine your brown sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts (if you’re using them).
Pour half the batter into the pan and spread. Sprinkle half the sugar mixture on top. Cover with the rest of the batter and end with the rest of the sugar mixture sprinkled on top.
Bake for 15 minutes and then turn down to 325* and bake for 30-35 minutes more.
